2.5.1.
ELECTRIC POWER
Compared to 1999, in 2000, supplies of electric power advanced by 30% to
some 4,090 mln. kWh. Expansion of export supplies mainly occurred due to increased
supplies to Moldova in 2000. Compared to 1999, average prices for export supplies of
electric power from Ukraine in 2000 virtually did not change and settled at USD/1,000 kWh
21. Average monthly prices ranged within USD/1,000 kWh 17-25.
Compared to previous years, by-region distribution of Ukrainian export
remained virtually the same (see Figure 1). The main traditional importers of Ukrainian
electric power are Hungary and Poland, consuming some 60% of the total Ukrainian export
supplies of electric power in recent years. Besides, supplies to Moldova have soared.
Compared to 1999, 2000' shipments added 75%.
