The Catalogue "Importers and Exporters of Ukraine 2001" is compiled to assist businesses from numerous countries worldwide to become well oriented on the Ukrainian market and find reliable trade partners. The Catalogue consists of two parts, namely, Reference block and Catalogue of enterprises.

Reference block provides the opportunity to appraise economic potential of Ukraine in terms of both industrial development and capacities of commodity markets.

Catalogue of enterprises is presented by traders, joint stock companies, firms, plants, and other enterprises involved in active foreign trade throughout 2000. Summarized export turnover by enterprises listed in the Catalogue outruns 80% of total exports from Ukraine in 2000. Respective import turnover makes over 70%.

Reference block and the Catalogue of enterprises are the result of profound research and analysis by specialists of DERZHZOVNISHINFORM Center, who aimed to present information in the most objective manner. Information compiled in the Catalogue is official data, which were exclusively provided for the Catalogue "Importers and Exporters of Ukraine" by the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Agricultural Policy, the Ministry of Fuel and Energy, the Ministry of Transport, the State Committee for Industrial Policy, the State Customs Service, the State Tax Administration, the State Property Fund, The State Statistics Committee, as well as regional state administrations of Ukraine. In addition to official data, the following sources were used in the Catalogue: own information array of DERZHZOVNISHINFORM Center; Ukrainian databases of enterprises; data of the independent company, which comprises the largest international InfoAlliance network, and other sources. KARE company has prepared considerable volume of information for the Catalogue.

For more convenient use of the Catalogue, data is presented as electronic version on brand-named compact disk "EXIMBASE". To provide a consumer with permanent access to up-to-date information, there is a version of the Catalogue placed at specialized web-site at www.eximbase.com

To bring the information to the circle of foreign businessmen, the Catalogue is issued as an English-Russian edition. Original names of companies and enterprises, as well as address data in the Catalogue of enterprises were translated in compliance with the effective rules of transliteration.
