In January 2008 beer export up by 1.7% in Ukraine
In January 2008, Ukraine increased beer export by 1.7% or 373.70 ths liters versus December 2007 to 22,162.61 ths liters worth USD 6.16 mn, according to the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine. If compared to January 2007, beer export moved up by 24% or 4,290.18 ths liters in January 2008. As was reported, in December 2007, Ukraine’s beer export moved up by 3.3% or 700.51 ths liters versus November 2007 to 21,788.91 ths liters worth USD 6.22 mn. Ukraine increased sugar import 3.1 times in January 2008
In January 2008, Ukraine’s sugar import stepped up 3.1 times or 4.111 ths tons versus January 2007 to 6.058 ths tons worth USD 2.459 mn, according to the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine. If compared to December 2007, in January 2008, sugar import trended up by 96% or 2.967 ths tons. As was reported, in December 2007, Ukraine’s sugar import moved up by 17.4% or 0.458 ths tons versus December 2006 to 3.091 ths tons worth USD 1.369 mn. Ukraine’s vodka production down by 4.6% in February 2008
In February 2008, Ukraine’s enterprises produced 2,401 ths dal of vodka, down by 4.6% against February 2007. If compared to January 2008, in February 2008, vodka production moved down by 140 ths dal. In two opening months of 2008, vodka production made 4,942 ths dal versus 5,367 ths dal in the respective period of 2007. It is testify to production decrease by 7.9% in Ukraine’s regions. Mini Steel Mill ISTIL (Ukraine) increased rolled metal production by 23% in Jan-Feb 2008
In January-February 2008, Mini Steel Mill ISTIL (Ukraine) of Donetsk (MMZ) increased rolled metal production by 22.9% versus the respective period of 2007 to 177 ths tons, steel – by 27.5% to 181 ths tons. In February 2008, MMZ produced 90 ths tons of rolled metal and 87 ths tons of steel. In Jan-Feb 2008, Ilyich Iron & Steel Works of Mariupol decreased steel production by 0.5 %
In January-February 2007, Ilyich Iron & Steel Works of Mariupol (MMK, Donetsk region) increased production by 24.4% versus the respective period of 2007 to UAH 3.198 bn. According to the pres center of the company, in two opening months of 2008, the Works increased sinter production by 20% to 2.226 mn tons, pipes production – by 13.3% to 18 ths tons, while cast iron production moved down by 1% to 911 ths tons, steel – by 0.5% to 1.154 mn tons. DneproSpetsStal up production by 7% in Jan-Feb 2008
In January-February 2008, Electrometallurgical Plant DneproSpetsStal (Zaporozhye) increased production by 7% versus the respective period of 2007 to UAH 605.86 mn. In February 2008, the plant’s production was UAH 308.439 mn, up by 12.2% against February 2007. In January 2008, production made UAH 297.421 mn. In January 2008, steel pipes production dropped by 6.2% in Ukraine
In January 2008, Ukraine cut steel pipes production by 6.2% or 10.40 ths tons versus December 2007 to 157.90 ths tons. In January 2008, Interpipe (Nizhnedneprovskiy Pipes Rolling Plant) increased steel pipes production by 0.2% or 0.10 ths tons to 47.30 ths tons. At the same time, Khartsyzskiy Pipes Plant cut production by 62.3% or 10.59 ths tons to 6.41 ths tons. Novokramatorsk Pipes Rolling Plant increased production by 26.6% or 5.09 ths tons to 24.19 ths tons. Lugansk Pipes Rolling Plant increased pipes production by 20.6% or 2.90 ths tons to 17.00 ths tons. Dnepropetrovsk Pipes Plant decreased production by 24.1% or 3.38 to 10.62 ths tons. Ukraine’s sugar plants produced 1.7 mn tons of sugar
As of November 26, 2007, Ukraine’s sugar producers produced 1.685 mn tons sugar down by 23% versus the respective period of 2006. Presently, there are 40 sugar plants – sugar beat reprocesses in Ukraine, 69 had finished the season, and one stopped the work over sugar row absence. Earlier, the plan was at the level 1.7-1.8 mn tons versus 2.6 mn tons in 2006. The experts explain this situation due to later sugar refining process and reduction of the beat harvest. In January-November 2007, meat production was 710 ths tons in Ukraine
In 10 months of 2007, according to the State Statistic Committee of Ukraine, meat production was 709.9 ths tons versus 627.8 ths tons in 2006. In the period under review, meat production growth by 9.6% to 404.8 ths tons, pork meat – by 21% to 131.7 ths tons, beef – by 13.7% to 157.6 ths tons. At the same time, the 1st category semi products production moved up by 15.7% to 13.5 ths tons. In October 2007, Ukraine cut milk production by 10%
According to the State Statistic Committee of Ukraine, in October 2007, milk production moved down by 10.1% versus September to 997.2 ths tons. In the period under review, private sector decreased milk production by 10.1% to 840.2 ths tons and agriculture sector – by 10.4% to 157 ths tons.
