Foundation of the company

United Grain became co-founder of the Ukrainian Agrarian Exchange

United Grain was the first Ukrainian company to become a member of the International Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA), London, England

July 1997 -

United Grain became a member of the Federation of Oils, Seeds and Fats Associations Ltd. (FOSFA International), London, England

1998 -

United Grain became one of the founders of Ukraine’s Grain Union, Kiev

February 2000 -

United Grain became the general processor of wheat at Nikolaev and Ternopol Bread Baking Plants. The association produce wheat flour Extra and 1st grade, granulated and friable brans, and semolina. Volumes of production (sales) account for 5,000 tonnes per month.

Main directions of activities of United Grain Group:

1. Foreign trade in grain and oil crops

United Grain Group purchase agricultural produce at Ukraine's domestic elevators, mostly forage and food grain crops such as barley, wheat, corn, peas; and oil crops such as sunflower seeds.
United Grain export commodities via the Black Sea ports, as well as to Eastern Europe via the Western Ukrainian frontier.
In the season of 1999-2000, trade turnover in grain and oil crops amounted to some 250,000 metric tons.
United Grain Group is a vertical integrated structure with representations in 11 cities of Ukraine.
As a result, there is a full control over the whole chain - from purchase of the commodity at the domestic elevator - forwarding cargo over the territory of Ukraine - to loading of grain on board the vessel in a Black Sea port.

2. Production and processing of agricultural produce.

In the season of 1999-2000, United Grain Group started new activities as follows:
In October 1999, Ramburs commenced processing of sunflower seeds for sunflower seed oil and meal at Ukrainian oil mills. Exports of sunflower seed oil produced this season accounts for some 10,000 tonnes.
In February 2000, Ramburs started processing of food wheat for flour and its further sales to Ukrainian consumers. Processing is being executed at Nikolaev Bread Baking Plant, as well as at other Ukrainian enterprises.
Aggregate volume of production and sales of wheat since February till June 2000 amounts to approximately 22,000 tonnes.
Starting from March 2000, United Agritechnical Company is engaged in cultivating agricultural crops in Nikolaev region on rented lands with total area of 2,000 ha.
The company applies advanced agricultural technologies, high-productive equipment and high-quality seeds and fertilizers.

3. Investment activity.

United Grain Group actively develops and puts into practice investment projects aimed at agriculture and processing industry of Ukraine.
The main directions for investments are: elevators, bread baking plants, cultivation of agricultural crops on rented areas and flour milling.
United Grain owns control stakes in some big Ukrainian elevators. Total current assets under the control of United Grain amounts to some UAH 80,000,000.

4. Cargo forwarding.

Department of transportation and forwarding cargo services with the United Grain Group processes all export cargoes on the places of loading (under DAF terms of delivery), and in the Black Sea ports - Odessa, Ilyichevsk and Nikolaev - when the cargo is to be shipped by sea.
Department of transportation and forwarding cargo services has experience in transferring export cargo via port elevators, as well as directly from rail to vessel or from barge to vessel.

5. Sales of agricultural equipment

United Agritechnical Company is an official representative of the following European plants-manufacturers:
KUHNE - complete set of mounted land treatment equipment, i.e. heavy-duty disk harrows, reversible and tier ploughs, grain drills and row-crop drill, and cultivators;
FARMGEP - manufacture of high-quality trailer, mounted and self-propelled sprayers and seed treaters;
TAURUS (Reference Note: trade mark is owned by MICHELIN company) - production of tyres and tubes for agricultural equipment;
MASSEY FERGUSON - the leading world producer of practically all the range of agricultural techniques, namely grain combine harvester, tractors, ploughs, disk harrows, cultivators, etc.
Along with brand new equipment, second-hand agricultural machinery by the leading world producers such as CLAAS, CASE, JOHN DEERE, MASSEY FERGUSON, etc. are also offered for sale.
All second-hand agricultural techniques passes a pre-sale maintenance and our company renders services on repairs of such machinery.
Maximal speed and quality of services will be ensured by the availability of warehouses and demonstration site in Kiev.
There is a warranty period in respect to all sold agricultural machinery.

6. Services to agricultural producers.

United Agrotechnical Company renders agricultural services mainly in Nikolaev region.
The main services rendered by the mechanized unit are:
